Sleeper - that house

Movie homes - Charles Deaton' s houseBest known for its prominent role in Woody Allen’s 1973 sci-fi comedy Sleeper, this unusual ‘clamshell’ house perched on Genesee Mountain was built by architect Charles Deaton in the early 1960s.

It served as the setting for Allen’s comical world 200 years in the future, in which his protagonist Miles awakens after being cryogenically frozen.

With its sleek concrete silhouette, columns of glass windows, and a seriously cool cylindrical elevator, it’s no wonder that the Sculptured House recently sold for $1.5 million.
