Russia changing stance on Syria?

According to The Times, Russia has put two amphibious assault vessels and 300 elite Black Beret marines on standby for what is believed to be a planned evacuation of about 10,000 of its citizens from Syria.

The move comes amid indications that Syria’s most powerful ally is having second thoughts about President Assad’s ability to prevail over rebels battling to topple him.
