Sunflowers
Among the yellow blooms in Vincent van Gogh's famous sunflower paintings are distinctive mutant double flowers. Researchers have now traced the gene responsible for the mutation. Box C shows a double-flowered mutant variety, while the arrows marked G show this mutation in Van Gogh's painting.
